So, we all now know that young Elliot isn’t really the moral crusader he has appeared to be.  I know, it’s shocking.   A politician involved with prostitution.  Who ever heard of such a thing?  Anyway, debates on morality, prostitution, and politics aside, can we focus on wifey for a moment?

Silda Spitzer, graduate of Havard Law School, founder of Children for Children and, um … HOT??  HELLO!  OK, so even if Silda had been “less” of a woman, she would deserve the same kind of treatment as the Silda we Googled for the first time today.  And that treatment,  my friends, is not what young Elliot proffered.  Sure, for all we know Silda could be a rancid, cold-hearted bitch that drove her husband into the arms of a prostitute at the bargain price of $5,500/hr. (chargable to the City of New York).  Or maybe Silda knew exactly what she was getting into and made a conscious trade-off — wealth and power for integrity of the home and the marital relationship.  No one knows what goes on behind closed doors.  That being said, I still can’t help but feel that if a woman like that gets treated so badly, the rest of us should start saying some prayers.  Or maybe we should be sure to marry good men.  Like, those not involved in politics.  Or law.  Or business.  Or restauranteering.  Err … nevermind.  Start praying.

Anyway, I want to tell young Elliot — our poor, misguided, guardian of ethics and morality – that if he is lucky enough to keep his (presumably) virtuous wife, he better clean up this mess and resume his post kneeling behind her, head bowed, kissing the ground she walks on.  Smart, beautiful, well-pedigreed, philanthropic (although, as far as I’m concerned, she doesn’t get full points on this one, since it’s like a job requirement as a politician’s wife), and mother of three beautiful (or, one beautiful and two solidly above-average) girls (who will now each require more than their three college educations combined in psychotherapy) … pucker up, young Elliot.  Pucker up.

I admire your bleeding heart; however, I will consider “at least” changing the picture of “the kids” when you decide to refer to prostitutes with a term significantly more benign than “whores.” I realize how easy it may be to villify faceless women who would never give you the time of day — prostitution ring or not; in fact, I might find it just as easy to say that Spitzer’s kids deserve this disgrace, since I don’t know them and could easily assiciate them with any campy, NYC private-school villianess — a la Gossip Girl or Cruel Intentions. Unlike you, however, I wouldn’t stoop so low so as to assume that I know something about people who have lead lives that I cannot even begin to fathom. What I will do is mention them and maybe suggest that all that money could well be put toward a rhinoplasty or two. Just kidding. But I hope you get my point.

  3. Good riddance Ellie, you will not be missed. That is what you get for marrying a shiksa.
