Girls Rule, Part Trois

So, we already know that frat-lit is BS and that an American matriarchy is coming. Put another way, our social order is inverting, despite any popular backlash. What we didn’t know until today, however, is that feminism may mean better sex for everyone. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that I’m just peddling a female-biased equivalent of the now-infamous blow-job health claims (“Giving blow jobs reduces the risk of breast cancer”; “Giving blow jobs prevents pregnancy,” etc.). Well, if you won’t take it from me, at least consider the Rutgers University study just published in the journal, Sex Roles. The study examines heterosexual couples involved in relationships of 4 years or longer. In a nutshell, it shows that feminists and their lucky men experience higher levels of romance and more sexual satisfaction. I have yet to get my hands on the full text of the study, but I am interested to see how researchers defined “feminism,” “romance,” and “sexual satisfaction.” Either way, I can’t say that I am surprised. Again, depending on the definitions in use, it would seem that the message is this: women who are self-actualizing, who are assertive and take ownership of their lives, and who are secure in themselves may add significant value to a relationship.  Who would’ve guessed that a free and happy man can not make a happy couple by himself? Anyway, if we should take anything away from this study, maybe it should be this: it really does take two to tango.
