About Samantha Alexander

THE SCOOP: I am a corporate transactional lawyer at one of the country’s biggest firms. After a stint in Washington D.C. and another in one of Wall Street’s largest investment houses, Biglaw was a logical next step.  After two years of it, however, it is time to reevaluate.  After all, as fun as it is being wealthy, isn’t there more to life than “power” (as if Biglaw associates have any) and raking in the dough?  I think so.

So stay tuned as I test my hypothesis.  Constructive criticism, feedback, and general thoughts are always welcome and appreciated.  If, however, you are here to cut me down, either as a means of venting your frustration with the world or otherwise, I kindly request that you fuck off.  Job transitions are hard and as an aspiring transitioner, I am like a souffle trying to rise — poking me and yelling at me, aside from being mean, can undermine my ascent.

xx,

Sam

I wish you the best as find your way to your next life adventure. Although it can be scary and intimidating, sometimes change is the best medicine. I believe that every person was created for a purpose. May you find yours. Blessings as you search.

  12. I know the feeling. I’m between jobs myself, and with a little luck between careers. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job (software developer), but I am fed up with this ungrateful cut-throat industry which does not even make for good party conversation.

I wish you luck on this journey of trying to find meaning beyond power and money, which I call the red herrings of life. You are not the only one.
